The world of the Spill
In the old days the gods' Cauldron brought the fallen back at every dawn. Then it spilled: the brew soaked the land, and everything it touched woke a second time — smaller, softer, not quite finished. The meadows round Hollowbrook are full of such creatures, from the bouncy Mossling to the old turtle in the Thornwood Edge grove.
Wayfarers who drink from Hollowbrook's spring come back to it when they fall. That is why everyone who can goes out to hunt, trade and keep the Waystones lit.
